RFID is set to take off in UK apparel market

News

A recent survey by GS1 UK showed that over 25 percent of the top 20 retailers in the UK are already using RFID tags in their stores. Another 20 percent are currently trialing and 15 percent are investigating their use and are due to pilot the technology in the next few months.

Over 2 billion smart payment cards shipped in 2015

Data collated by the SPA from its members reveal 2060 million payment chip cards were shipped globally in 2015. This represents an increase of 34% on last year’s figures. The gathering pace of EMV migration in the United States played a major factor in the uplift of worldwide shipment figures.
