The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and especially the rapid spread of the Omikron variant also have an impact on EuroCIS 2022, which will now be postponed to May 31 to June 02, 2022. Messe Düsseldorf has decided on this new date in close consultation with the exhibiting companies and participating partners due to the dynamic infection situation and the continued uncertainty regarding travel and quarantine requirements in the individual European countries. EuroCIS, The Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology, was originally scheduled for February 15-17.
Why has EuroCIS just been moved to this date in May/June 2022?
We have discussed the few date options for 2022 with the associations and exhibitor representatives and reached a joint decision for this date. Under the current circumstances, May 31-June 02, 2022, allows the greatest possible planning security for all involved. Exhibitors can now focus on the new date and align their trade show preparations accordingly. Based on numerous expert statements, we assume that the situation will most likely calm down by early summer 2022 as a result of the current measures in almost all European countries. With CARAVAN SALON, A plus A and Medica 2021, we have already shown that successful trade fairs are possible even in corona times under the greatest possible protection for all parties involved. EuroCIS is well booked and we expect further commitments for the new date.
How will the postponements affect the subsequent dates of EuroCIS?
EuroCIS will take place in February 2023 as scheduled within EuroShop, The World's No. 1 Retail Trade Fair, as it does every three years, and will return in 2024 as a stand-alone event at its usual February/March date in the trade fair calendar.
Why isn't EuroCIS being held virtually?
Exhibitors have cast a clear vote for EuroCIS as a presence event. And retailers are also urgently waiting for the live event so that they can have products and innovations demonstrated to them in direct comparison by international specialists and discuss them in personal talks. Retail technology in particular is all about individually tailored solutions with a high demand for discussion between suppliers and users. The "live dialog" is preferred by all participants - especially after two years of physical distance and predominantly digital communication.
Exhibitors and visitors can continue to find out about the latest news from the industry as well as trends and product innovations on our online platform www.eurocis.com . From mid-January, the matchmaking system will also be available, and all approved exhibitors will continue to be listed in the database and the "Exhibitor and Product Search". They can actively enter information about their company, information about their products and solutions via our online portal. When will the ticket store be changed or opened?
Tickets already purchased will retain their validity and will be transferred one-to-one to the postponed event. The ticket store will remain open except for a short reconstruction phase.
Will you compensate your customers for costs incurred to date for booked air and rail tickets, hotel accommodation, etc.?
We understand the difficult situation resulting from the cancellation. Please contact the respective provider to clarify open questions and find solutions. We are unable to provide any information on customers' contracts with third-party providers, as these have not been entered into with Messe Düsseldorf.
Do OOS services booked with Messe Düsseldorf have to be cancelled and re-booked?
No, all contracts concluded directly with Messe Düsseldorf regarding EuroCIS remain valid for the new date. This does not automatically apply to contracts with third parties, even if these have been concluded via the Online Order System - OOS provided by the trade fair company. In this case, please contact the relevant service partners directly.
What do you do with the registrations that have already been confirmed?
Registrations are still valid and we will carry over the registration made for February to the new term of 31.05.-02.06.2022. The exhibitor does not need to take any action. Potential exhibitors who have not yet registered for EuroCIS 2022 due to the current situation can still do so.
