EuroCIS, Europe´s Leading Trade Fair for Retail Technology, the trade fair with solutions and innovations revolving around the Smart Store and Smart Retail scheduled to take place between 16 and 18 March 2021 at Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre is cancelled and will only be held in line with its usual frequency from 15 to 17 February 2022. With this move Messe Düsseldorf responds to the ongoing pandemic situation and still entirely unforeseeable situation in spring 2021.
“The decision taken by the federal and state governments on 25 November to tighten measures in Germany further and probably even prolong them into the new year unfortunately does not raise any hopes for a marked improvement until March,” says Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf, and goes on to explain: “We want to give our exhibitors planning safety. This is why, after consultations with the exhibitors’ advisory board of EuroCIS and the trade fair’s conceptual sponsor, the EHI Retail Institute, EuroCIS will not be held before February 2022.”
EuroCIS is a hallmark event offering highly specialised developments specifically for retail, covering such segments as Big Data, e-Commerce solutions, supply chain management, mobile solutions, check-out management, digital marketing, workforce management or merchandise surveillance. With a view to keeping the sector informed about the developments and trends in retail technology with its short innovation cycles despite the cancellation of the physical event in 2021, and in order to get players in touch with each other even before the next personal meeting in the exhibition halls, various digital touch points spread over the year will bridge the gap until EuroCIS 2022.
