Loss Prevention: fighting rising losses with data, technology and store assistants

In 2025 inventory discrepancies again increased in German physical retail. The current EHI Study “Inventory Discrepancies 2026” reveals an increase in the extrapolated losses from EUR 4.95 billion to EUR 5.11 billion corresponding to a 3.2% rise. Inventory discrepancies not only put a burden on revenue, they also cause additional expenditure for checking, securing and organisation.
