One key topic was the role of artificial intelligence (AI) - far beyond traditional applications such as replenishment, pricing or inventory management. Generative AI in particular, such as ChatGPT, is creating a new dynamic in retail by accelerating and simplifying processes and strengthening customer orientation. The topic of seamless checkout was also omnipresent: automated checkout solutions, smart shopping carts and electronic price labels (ESL) illustrate how strongly retailers are focusing on digitalization and increasing efficiency.
