Your view on prices, retailers and plagiarism: Competitive advantages with monitoring apps

One step ahead of the competition: How retailers and producers monitor the market and optimise their strategy Competition analysis, location and store researching and portfolio comparisons: Nowadays retailers get nearly all information. The problem here: A complete and constant analysis costs time and money. Moreover, there is always the risk of incompleteness or mistakes.
What retailers need is a high-quality software that retrieves prices, clearly presents products and product lines, records stores and locations and delivers addresses and contacts. Only then will professional crawling be successful.

After an overview of the classic price crawling process for pricing and product line analysis of competitive data, the speaker goes on to the second form of crawling: Target Intelligence, also called “lead crawling”. With Target Intelligence, merchants can search relevant sales and competition data on the World Wide Web and obtain B2B information such as address information, shop information, contacts and opening hours. The software can also tell if a website is a store and directly extracts the website operator's contact information. All of this happens through the use of specific search tags and the targeted use of high-performance web crawling technologies. This technology enables effective researching in combination with customizable algorithms – if necessary in real time.

After the classic price crawling and the target intelligence, Andreas Seibt addresses manufacturers directly with the third type of crawling: the Channel Monitoring. Using this technique, they can track market price developments of their products, monitor the type and characteristics of promotions and availabilities and detect plagiarisms and counterfeits at an early stage.
